Conversations with Michael Proper

I’ve been talking to Michael Proper
We’ve been discussing the future of ClarkConnect / ClearOS, and how the School IT Expert, might be able to get involved.
Oh and Michael met Linus Torvald today!!
So I think this means that there are just 2 degrees of separation between me and the guy who founded Linux!

captcha

I’ve been implementing the captcha facility
I’ve installed captcha on various websites recently, particularly on this blog, but also as part of registering on some other sites.
I’d been getting spammed regularly and this has certainly put that to a stop to that, and it now means that I can concentrate on looking after real people, instead [...]

It’s called schoolplays.org and it’s where Lea can publish her plays and stories that she’s been writing.

K2

Had a look at K2 today.
It looks like a promising extension to a basic Joomla website, but I’m going to see if it survives the next version of Joomla (1.6) before I start using it.
It’s headline feature is being able to nest categories / sections which is reported to be coming in Joomla 1.6 so [...]

TwitBacks.com

I’ve had a little play with TwitBacks.com

Cool!

Decided that the front page should no longer show the welcome message.  Visitors can still click on the welcome link if they want to, but I suspect that most visitors just want to know what we’re putting on at the moment!
I also changed the Tads title to [...]

New Forum

I’ve today installed a new forum for Pryer Solutions.
It’s for sounding out general ideas about where IT is heading, particularly in education.
It’s early days of course, and the forum will be a work in progress for the foreseeable future.
However once I’ve spent a bit more time configuring it to make it more user-friendly, I’ll be [...]

New Billiard Game

It’s been a full day!

I was up ’til 3am last night (had to pick up Rosie after a late night out!) so I got myself working on the Pryer Solutions websites, and managed to achieve lots last night and this morning.
We had the Picture House event today at Tads Theatre, there were about 35 tickets sold and everyone had [...]
